Our Adoption Process
How it works…
We are committed to setting up both our dogs and their adopters for success and so we have the following adoption process in place to help ensure that happens.
Before Adoption
All the dogs in our rescue are completely vetted. All of our dogs have had at minimum a veterinarian check, 1st and 2nd sets of vaccines, microchipping, and spay/neuter before they become available for adoption. All the dogs are evaluated for temperament and behavior. We spend a great deal of time
getting to know our dogs and evaluating what type of home they would be best suited.
The Adoption Steps
- When potential adopters find a dog, they are interested in, they fill out an adoption application. This helps us get a feel for what type of dog they are looking for and to see if the dog they are interested inmatches their household and any current pets.
- If we think there may be a match; It’s meet-and-greet time. This is typically done where the dog is being fostered.
- If the meet and greet goes well and everyone is excited, we do a home visit with the dog.
- Final step is filling out an adoption contract and the adoption.
- There is an adoption fee to partially cover our costs associated with their care. We are a 501c3 so the adoption fee is tax deductible.
